Not Autistic or Hyperactive. Just Seeing Double at Times


Experts estimate that 5 percent of school-age children see double because their eyes cannot work together at close range. The condition, called convergence insufficiency, can be mistaken for disabilities like autism, ADHD or anxiety disorders. Pediatric ophthalmologists urge that children should be checked for convergence difficulties when there is a history of poor school performance.
