I encourage you to take a look at some of Mental Disability Rights International (MDRI) website's reports, photographs, and video clips. What you see you may find shocking – and you will certainly find disturbing. Over the last 15 years, MDRI has investigated the living conditions and treatment of people with mental disabilities in dozens of countries in Europe, the Americas, and the Middle East. Sad to say, they have found serious human rights violations across the globe.

Thanks for opening people's eyes to this. Americans sometimes don't realize that our rate of progress concerning the needs of people with disabilities is much further along than in many other countries. A measure of our strength is how well we treat our weakest.
